Weeks into a partial government shutdown that has resulted in closed terminal checkpoints, long wait lines for airport travelers and numerous furloughed Department of Homeland Security employees, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have been sent by U.S. President Donald Trump to assist major airports in the country.

But DHS and the Trump Administration have remained tight-lipped about operational plans for ICE at airports near you.

Is ICE at Philadelphia International Airport? Did DHS confirm ICE in Philly?

On Tuesday morning, multiple Philadelphia-based media outlets reported ICE sightings at the Philadelphia International Airport, including NBC10 and 6ABC.

When asked directly, however, representatives of DHS and TSA declined to confirm any ICE whereabouts for safety purposes.

“For operational security reasons, we are not going to confirm the locations of our officers,” DHS Acting Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, Lauren Bis, said in a statement issued to this publication.
