{"id":101,"date":"2025-12-09T18:47:40","date_gmt":"2025-12-09T18:47:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/socializenews.com\/?p=101"},"modified":"2025-12-09T18:47:40","modified_gmt":"2025-12-09T18:47:40","slug":"20-year-old-man-charged-with-attempted-murder-in-shooting-of-jets-player-kris-boyd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/socializenews.com\/?p=101","title":{"rendered":"20-year-old man charged with attempted murder in shooting of Jets player Kris Boyd"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao MvWXB TjIXL aGjvy ebVHC \"><span class=\"oyrPY qlwaB AGxeB  \">\u00a0<\/span>A 20-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder in the November shooting Jets player Kris Boyd in Midtown, Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Frederick Green, of the Bronx, is facing charges of attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, officials said Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Green was taken into custody at the University at Buffalo North Campus in Amhurst on Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">He was transferred to a Midtown police precinct where he was questioned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">He has four prior arrests, one for reckless endangerment in 2024 and three others that are sealed &#8212; unlawful possession of personal identification and criminal possession of a controlled substance earlier this year and a robbery arrest in 2018, when he was a juvenile.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Detectives had identified their suspect last month and have been actively looking for him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Boyd was\u00a0shot in the abdomen on Nov. 16,\u00a0and the bullet traveled to his lung and lodged in the pulmonary artery, police said. He underwent multiple medical procedures, posting Nov. 19 that he was\u00a0&#8220;starting to breathe on my own.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Last week, Boyd surprised teammates by showing up at the team facility.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Boyd, known for his special teams prowess, attended the special teams meeting. At the end of the session, he was the player who broke down the meeting, much to the delight of his teammates.
